Everybody has this need to be heard. We all want to have a venue where we can pour our hearts out knowing somebody is listening or at least reading. This is the fundamental reason why blogging is such an instant hit. You put up a blog and post your views, thoughts, miseries, adventures, etc. You don’t only get to be heard but you can also earn. How? Here are the 6 quick steps to blogging:
1. Select a blogging site. There are numerous free blogging sites in the internet today like blogspot.com, wordpress, etc. Try each one to determine which ones give you all the features that you need and register.
2. Pick a witty blog name. Just like a regular domain name, your blog name should be interesting, keyword-rich, easy to spell, and short. In addition, it must also compliment the theme or topic of your blog.
3. Choose a topic. It can be anything. From your hobbies, to your failures, to your adventures, anything you’d like to share with other online users. To have a more targeted blog, create one blog for each topic so your readers won’t get confuse with what you are trying to convey.
4. Design your blog. Different blogging sites offer templates that are ready to use. If you are not comfortable with these and you are very knowledgeable with HTML and website design, then by all means improve your blogs aesthetic side.
5. Post relevant, quality content. To draw visitors to your blog and to easily expand your reader base, make it a habit to post useful, interesting content on your blog. This will remain the sole reason for your readers to come back.
6. Make money from your blog. The first step to make money through your blog is to drive traffic to it. You can utilize SEO, link building, forum posting, and article marketing. When you have sufficient traffic, you can utilize Google adsense to post relevant ads to your blog. Every time an interested visitor click these ads, you will earn.
