Should I Buy A Plasma Or Lcd Tv?

April 25th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Women

Widescreen plasma TVs are currently the home theatre thing but LCD (liquid crystal display) technology is the next big thing. Even though they are a little more expensive than plasmas, LCD televisions give a sharper image. However the downside is that the largest one currently available is only 40-inch (101cm). Shortly though, many manufacturers will be introducing a larger one.
LCD TVs work as a result of the charging of a liquid which is sandwiched between two layers of film underneath the glass screen, and that action lights up millions of pixels.

Pearl Education 101

February 18th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Women

Cultivation
Pearls are produced naturally in the body of salt and freshwater mollusks, such as oysters and mussels. When these animals sense an irritant, such as a grain of sand, they produce a soft coating of calcium carbonate substance around it. The result is a pearl. Because perfectly round, naturally produced pearls are so rare, a process known as cultivation was developed by Kokichi Mikimoto in the early 1900s. A small bead of polished shell, the nucleus, is used as an irritant and delicately inserted into the mantle of a mollusk. It takes approximately 20-24 months of intensive husbandry to cultivate a saltwater pearl and somewhat less time to cultivate freshwater pearls. The harvest usually takes place during the months of June and September.

Few easy Steps involved in wearing a Saree

Step 1. Around your body. Starting at the navel, tuck the plain end of the saree into the petticoat and continue tucking till you take a complete turn from right to left. Adjust the lower end of the saree to the height required. Ideally wear your footwear so that you drape the saree to the right length.

Step 2. Measuring the pallu. Hold the top edge of the saree where the pallu is and bring it around your hips to the front and over your left shoulder, thus measuring the length of the pallav or pallu. The pallav should hang down the back to the knee. You may pin your pallav to your sari blouse provisionally.

The first wave of gem-quality manufactured diamonds hit the market late in 2003. Man-made diamonds is nothing new and the technology has been available since the mid 19th century. Small diamond crystals were created for industrial purposes such as grinding wheels, drill bits and saw blades. What is new is that a Florida based company can now produce rough 3-carat gem-quality diamonds 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at a cost of less than $100 dollars.
