I frequently recommend that article marketers should extend their reach beyond article directories. Here is another idea to increase the chance of having your articles published on other people’s sites.

Article directories, such as EzineArticles.com, provide great opportunities for business owners. You can actually tap into their sites to bring in qualified traffic for your own site or business. This is what I call as “stealing traffic ethically.” You provide valuable content and in return you get what you want.

This is actually a win-win-win model.

My Public Speaking Teaching Resources

June 18th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Writing and Speaking

I wanted to take the time to share with you my public speaking teaching resources. These are great because they really can help you conquer your public speaking fears and general flaws. I found the best way to learn is by doing. There is just no other way to properly learn. Standing in front of the mirror giving a speech or in front of your family, isn’t really doing it.

I think the best resource anyone has available to them is the Toastmasters organization. It is a non-profit group that works to help people improve their public speaking skills. It is a very supportive group that tries to encourage people to learn. It is a learn by doing program, but you’re allowed to go at your own pace.

Sean: I want to be careful because there’s a whole family of companies like that company who offer article submission services. Rather than address that company particularly, I’m going to address the family of companies.

Caller: Ok, no problem.

Sean: Simply because I want to maintain a high level of professionalism, and I think that that company actually does a lot of things other than just article submission. I just want to be very professional here.

Caller: My question wasn’t intended to put you in a compromising position.

Sean: No, I won’t allow it to be. Let me go ahead and answer the question though.

Article Marketing - How To Choose The Right Niche For Your Article Writing And Article Marketing

April 19th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Writing and Speaking

Article marketing requires you to narrow down your writing into a specific niche.

A niche is simply a narrowing of the population you’re going to reach.

Many people come in to article writing and article marketing wanting to reach everyone. “Well, my message is to the world.” That’s nice, but unless you’re Yahoo or Google or Coca-Cola and can afford to put your message on the side of every bus and billboard in the world, it’s not going to work. It’s too big a net. You want to cast a net big enough to capture your ideal client, but small enough to where they will know it’s for them. So one niche strategy is to have a niche that replicates itself.

Grammar Rules - How Much Does It Matter?

March 22nd, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Writing and Speaking

How important is your copy? Should writing quality evaporate for rankings? I’ve read articles that talk about these subjects. Some say grammar and spelling aren’t essential. Some say just getting your stuff out there is the key - don’t worry if there’s no point to your debacle of an article. I’ve even seen it suggested that misspelling intentionally is all right to get SEO rankings.

So, is it acceptable to have typos, misspellings, bad grammar, and poor sentence structure in your articles or on your website? Spelling, especially, is a hard concept for a whole lot of people. Grammar is a bit fluid because the rules change for different styles of writing. And, besides, readers don’t really notice anyway. Or do they?
