April 30th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Business

When thinking about whether a travel nurse job is right for you or not, it’s tempting to say ‘if you like travel and are or want to be a nurse, then yes, if not then no!’
That’s not very helpful though, and nor is it as simple as that.
So let’s take a closer look.

Naturally there are a huge range of different options open to the travel nurse, and the fact that there are all these choices is part of the appeal.
You might find yourself in the fast paced environment of an emergency situation, or in the more relaxed setting where people are convalescing.
You may be in the leisure industry, offering medical support to people on holiday who hopefully won’t need it!
Of course it’s up the nurse themself to make these kind of choices.

Window Installation- Rough Framing Or Finish Work?

April 29th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Home Improvement

The other day while I was visiting a job site, I watched with amazement as a framer quickly installed the windows into their openings. As I watched the units go in one by one I can honestly say the only installation instruction being followed was the use of a hammer and nails. I couldn’t help but think of the many service calls we receive each year and how the vast majority of these calls are the result of improper window installation. The question after seeing this first hand is how do you tell the framer the issues you are concerned with or worse yet tell a builder his warranty is void because someone couldn’t follow instructions. This is where I came up with the question, “rough framing or finish work?” Only you have the answer.

Black Sunday: Overreaction Or Overdue?

April 29th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Recreation and Sports

“Black Sunday” has come and gone and even though the firing of now former head coach Ken Hitchcock wasn’t terribly surprising given the Flyers history with coaching changes, oh yeah, and that horrid 1-6-1 start to the season, I’d be lying if I didn’t say the sudden resignation of supposed general manager for life Bob Clarke didn’t absolutely floor me.

I struggled with the news initially, thinking about it through every painful moment of yet another Eagles heartbreak and I just couldn’t decide if changing both the general manager and the coach 8 games into the season are decisions that were overdue or simply a terrible over reaction.

Compared to the one in 14 people from the age group who set up such a savings product six months ago, more consumers may find that their finances are in a favourable position in later life, which could help them meet demands for payment on areas such as loans and utility bills as they get older.

Compromise Of Misdemeanor - A Clean Ending To A Bad Decision

April 29th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Legal and Law

Washington State Law allows people charged with certain Misdemeanors to get their case dismissed by “compromising” with the victim of the crime. If you can comply with the conditions, a Compromise of Misdemeanor can give you a way of keeping your criminal record clean.

Requirements

The first requirement is that the crime charged is a Misdemeanor. Washington State recognizes two types of non-felony crimes: Misdemeanors and Gross Misdemeanors. A Misdemeanor is one where the maximum sentence is 90 days in jail and a $1000 fine. A Gross Misdemeanor is a crime where the maximum penalty is a year in jail and a $5000 fine.
