Unsecured Personal Loans - Finance For Various Needs

June 16th, 2008 Posted in Finance

Unsecured personal loans are made to provide small financial help to both tenants and homeowners. But approval of the loan may become a little harder to find as there is no collateral attached to it. This means the risks for the lenders only increase. Hence, you should go well prepared to a lender.

There is no property of the borrower taken for collateral in these loans. You can find the loan for any personal purpose like home improvements, wedding, holiday tour, purchasing a car, debt-consolidation etc. But the lenders will approve an amount only after assessing your repayment capability and credit history.

You can borrow anywhere from £1000 to £25000 as unsecured personal loans for its repayment in six months to 15 years, depending on the loan amount. However, in the absence of collateral, the lenders charge interest at higher rate to cover for the risks. Hence, you should be prepared to make a little higher amount of interest payments. The rate is usually fixed for the entire life of the loan.

If your credit history is poor or bad because of cases of late payments, defaults, arrears or CCJs, the loan can be availed on proving your income and overall repayment capability. But you may be making interest payment at enhanced rates.

Before applying for unsecured personal loans, make sure that you have applied for the rate quotes. Compare as many such lenders as you can on internet to find a suitable deal that has comparatively lower rate and fewer fee charges. If you have a blemished credit history, then these loans can be useful also in improving the credit rating in few years. But to do so, you must not miss the loan installments. Hence, borrow an amount that you can repay without stressing your existing finances.
