Applications Toward Creating Your Own Compelling Future

February 16th, 2008 Posted in Self Improvement

Yesterday memories, they are either good or bad. What you want to do is to leverage good memories to create future events. Think back about the 1 thing that always leads to a positive result in your life. I know for myself and I can prove this statistically, every time I study and learn something new, somewhere down the line my income increases. It doesn’t matter whether it was informal or formal education or training. It is always that one thing that you do that sets you on fire and you become unstoppable.

Today you have the chance and a choice to do more, to be more and act more in accordance with what you want and desire in life. I recall reading a book on Zen philosophy and in that book, it made the statement that the moment you have in front of you and what you do with it, will determine your destiny. The good thing is that each moment in time that appears, you have a choice and that choice is either taking you toward your objective or it is not.

Your tomorrow is determined by what you do today, in reading Joel Osteen book “Become a Better You” he made the following statement “God never performs his greatest feats in your yesterdays” He encourages to keep planning, to keep hoping and looking into a great future.

In listening to Bob Proctor he was talking about in retrospect that with his first mentor, he found that Bob didn’t believe in Bob. He realized that his mentor’s belief in him, gave him hope. This starts to show up in many things that I have read. It is like a chain reaction, hope leads to faith, faith leads to belief, belief leads to confidence, confidence leads action, and action leads to results.

One needs to be hopeful about whatever one desires in life. Once this is cultivated then faith will settle in. If you look at visualization, what is it other than the picture of a hopeful future? Once this future design is clear it leads to faith. This is why most mentors and coaches clarify actions, and targets and goals etc. If it is not clear to you in your minds eye, then faith will be hard to come by.

Visualization is something you do. In other words it is an action. What do we know about the Law of Cause and Effect? For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. What does this mean? Well we can take this several ways, if we look at paradigms, if we visualize a positive value, we shall get its equal, but along with this we also get the opposite the negative. Here we have a choice we can concentrate on the positive value, turning hope into faith or give attention to the negative which has the same effect turning negative hope into negative faith. That is the Law of Attraction.

Faith is the belief in things not seen as yet. One more thing, are you in the picture? A lot of people make the error of visualizing without placing themselves in the picture. Think about this, imagine lying in bed covered by millions of dollars and see yourself bathing in it, laughing and enjoying that moment of wealth. Now, see millions of dollars falling from the sky, but leave yourself out of the picture. Which picture do you feel will serve you? Get the point.

Repeating this vision daily for a month or so, once in the morning, a few times during the day, and before you go to sleep, is a method of turning vision into an affirming belief. Putting this vision into words will also help you turn things hoped for into faith. Affirmations are powerful, to those who are more auditory, speaking the words works better than visualizing. Some people are kinesthetic, so they need to write their affirmations and touch money, it doesn’t have to be real money, it could be play money. Some people need to do all three I would say I am 70% visual, 20% auditory and 10% kinesthetic. Visual things with sound inclusive of the written word have more impact on me than hearing and feeling on its own. Are you getting the picture “know thyself?”

What is the objective of what we covered so far? We have taken hope and turned it to faith. What is the next step? We need to install confidence. Now notice here we did not talk about taking any external actions. All we have done is prepare ourselves for receiving that which we visualize. We have placed the picture, sound and or feeling in place. Feelings are key, if visualization doesn’t turn you on then find out what does, it could be a piece of music that moves you, it could be something that you touch than gives you a feeling of prosperity, or the combination of all three.

Now we need to be moved into confidence. This step is the planning stage! Remember the exercise above taking 1 thing that you know always works to move you to a positive result. Let that one thing sit in your mind and wait. An idea may hit you right away or maybe a day or so later, but when the idea hits you, write it down. Don’t forget about the Law of Cause and Effect, just concentrate on what is possible not on the other. That will start turning your faith into confidence.

You see we are only preparing the soil to receive. Your mind is like a garden it needs to be fertilized and nurtured. During this period, I strongly recommend that you stay away from the TV and negative people. If you are in a situation where you are in proximately of negative thinking and acting behavior, minimize your contact as much as possible. Gauge your feelings with those around you. You may symbolically take a shower or wash your hands to cleanse yourself from that contact.

Let us recap we have moved hope into faith and faith into confidence. The next step is to move confidence into action.
You have an idea, to turn your burning desire into reality. Write it down and construct a plan to implement that idea.

You don’t have to be fancy. You may just want to write down the different things that would need to be made available or created in order to make this idea work. This is your starting point. If your vision is to be an entrepreneur then you should find the right business opportunity. The logical thing to research, what kind of opportunities, what attributes you are looking for, will it be in the same profession you are now. Maybe it is a second job or a particular career you want to experience, you might need to get additional skills, so start from where you are. You want to be writer, but you have no idea how to start or what style, pick up some books on the subject. This will get you started in the direction that you want to go in.

When one is done with laying out a plan of action, then the next will be to apply for that job opportunity or start that business. This could be getting a license, submitting an application, writing an article, or starting on a book concept, joining a club, taking a class, doing what will bring you into that field of endeavor. It could even be joining a dating service, or a joint venture. Imagination runs the full array of what is possible, if you can conceive of the idea then it is possible for you. Set daily goals to accomplish your tasks. This is a step by step process.

In time, with steady persistence and your vision in mind, you will find yourself heading in the direction that you most desire. Most of the work is done within. Each task when executed will bring about a result. Examine them and make sure they are taking you to where you want to go. It is the collection of the completed tasks that get you to your destination.

Hope into faith, faith into confidence, confidence into action and actions into results. That is process of creating your compelling future. It is simple but not easy.
