Improve Speaking Skills

June 25th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Writing and Speaking

I’m going to help you improve your speaking skills by giving you the know how on all the little public speaking tricks. Public speaking is one of the hardest ways to communicate, so when you get this down, all speaking becomes easy.

  • Provoke People: This is something most people don’t want to do in a good or bad way. I think a lot of people have this social boundary where they just won’t push something. It seems like “manipulating” someone to an emotional state of action, but it really isn’t that negative. We want to provoke people. When someone hears you speak, you want them to get to the point of action, either good or bad. You need to have the confidence to do this because it really is away to connect with the audience.

My Public Speaking Teaching Resources

June 18th, 2008 | No Comments | Posted in Writing and Speaking

I wanted to take the time to share with you my public speaking teaching resources. These are great because they really can help you conquer your public speaking fears and general flaws. I found the best way to learn is by doing. There is just no other way to properly learn. Standing in front of the mirror giving a speech or in front of your family, isn’t really doing it.

I think the best resource anyone has available to them is the Toastmasters organization. It is a non-profit group that works to help people improve their public speaking skills. It is a very supportive group that tries to encourage people to learn. It is a learn by doing program, but you’re allowed to go at your own pace.
